Employment by Lunae Viaggi Lunae viaggi language courses Lunae Viaggi sas is an Italian Company which has been organizing summer language courses for Italian Students for over 8 years. Lunae Viaggi runs courses for Italian students aged from 8 to 14 at various centres in Italy. Students book an all inclusive package of accommodation, food, morning English lessons, afternoon activities, excursions and evening activities. They arrive at the centre on Sunday afternoon and leave on Saturday afternoon after one or two weeks stay. Students have English lessons in the morning from Monday to Saturday and activities and half day excursions on those afternoons. There are two full day excursions on Wednesday and Sunday. There is an evening activity organised for every evening Monday to Sunday. ( pls refer to www.lunaeviaggi.it for detailed programmes for the various centres. Only in Italian language). at the centre
Overall responsibility for the centre at the local level is in the hands of the centre manager. (S)He is assisted by an Activity Coordinator who is responsible for the smooth running of the Activity Programme, and a Head Teacher, who is responsible for managing the academic programme. Teachers have three hours of English lessons in the morning and accompany the students on activities and excursions in the afternoon, evenings and at the weekends. The academic programme Students take a placement test on the same arrival day to assess their language ability and are then put into classes based on their level of English. The average class size is twelve. The language content of the course has a strong oral bias, and every effort is made to capitalize on the fact that the students are being taught by native speakers. In practice this means learning by doing stimulating tasks and projects while using English, instead of placing too much emphasis on grammatical accuracy. You will have course books and teaching material containing ideas for interesting lessons. You can bring along with you any material you deem valuable for teaching purposes. A copy machine will also be available.
We have a lot of stimulating and rewarding summer jobs for people with TEFL qualifications and experience, but we are also keen to hear from university students to work as Activity Monitors. Please note that: These are short-term jobs ( starting mid June, usually for 1 to 5 weeks) which are aimed at teachers or students who have a base in Italy. Teachers/students currently working abroad can be considered if they can organize and pay for their trip to Italy . We usually offer 2 weeks in our initial appointment letter which can be extended week by week (subject to satisfactory performance and the availability of more work in same or different location). We have summer jobs at our Lunae Viaggi centres in : Macugnaga (Piedmont), Carpinelli (Tuscany), Pescasseroli (Abruzzo), Fiuggi (Lazio).
